Install BeeLatch on an Ultra Bee
Swap the original T-Box for BeeLatch in about 15 minutes with one cross-head screwdriver. No battery work.
You will need
- Cross-head (Phillips) screwdriver
- Your BeeLatch kit
- About 15 minutes
Before you start
- Switch the bike off and remove the key
- Low-voltage wiring only — you do not open the battery
- Never cut or splice the harness
Remove the T-Box protective cover
The T-Box sits in a protective cover on the inner side of the battery upper cover. Remove the four mounting screws with a cross-head screwdriver, then pull the cover straight out.
Take out the original T-Box
Lift the original T-Box out of the cover. Keep it and the screws somewhere safe in case you want to reinstall it later.
Unplug the original T-Box
Press the latch on the T-Box connector and unplug it. Pull on the connector body, never on the wires.
Connect BeeLatch
Plug BeeLatch in exactly as shown on the connection card in your kit. Make sure the connector clicks and latches.
Fit BeeLatch and refit the cover
Place BeeLatch into the protective cover with the “UP” mark facing upward. Embed the cover back in its position on the inner side of the battery upper cover, snap it in, and tighten the four fixing screws. Do not overtighten — the cover is plastic.
Check it works
Switch the bike on. The BeeLatch LED turns green when it is receiving CAN traffic and red when the bus is quiet. Then open BeeDash → Settings → Gateway & Logger → Setup & connection and tap Search my network.
Questions
Do I need to open the battery?
No. BeeLatch goes in the T-Box position on the inner side of the battery upper cover and uses the bike’s low-voltage wiring.
The LED stays red — what now?
Red means BeeLatch is not seeing CAN traffic. Make sure the bike is on and the connector is fully seated and latched.
Can I put the original T-Box back?
Yes — reverse the steps and reconnect it.
